My little brother was in the ER so many times for hitting his head on everything. (he wasn't a hyper child, but he had no off button--non-stop all the time.) If my LO is anything like him, I'll end up buying stock in the company!!
with my ds we have had stitches before 2 and let me tell you, they learn from ouchies like that. so no i dont think i will be buying that. it is cute though
It's kind of cute actually. But is it wrong to laugh AT your child?
I'm sure some sort of crunchy co-sleeping, breast-feeding until adolescence, parent type would say it's wrong to laugh AT the kid but with the nerd cap, it's really kinda hard not to.......?
My ds has had more bumps to the head than I can count. He just goes non stop. He even ran full force into the corner of the dining room table once. I still wouldn't consider putting him in that.
And I'm a totally crunchy mama and I would definitely laugh at my child in that.

The answer to the FAQ "Isn't pain a learning curve and bumping your head part of growing up?" is totally ridiculous. They say that "scraped hands" is enough of a pain stimulus and doesn't involve being rushed to the hospital. Unless your early walker is over 4ft tall, he's not going to get a head injury from falling unless something falls on top of him. And my DS never, ever scraped his hands when learning to walk, it's not like we taught him on pins and needles. My DS has gotten plenty of bruises and goose eggs - that's why we evolved to have such hard heads and thick skulls.
Re: To protect your child's head
Hehe. No. No, it's not
Meh, bumping into things builds character :P
We have managed to avoid serious head injury without a helmet in the 6 months that Megan has been walking.

Suzy: Honey, I'm starting to think about our baby's safety when it starts walking. What do you think of this?
DH: Hmm... I've seen the helmets kids wear when they have a brain injury....
Suzy:: This isnt for that.
DH: Yeah, I think this one would seem to indicate that the parent has had some sort of a brain injury.
Haha!! I have to agree. DS is crusing full speed at this point in time sooooo he falls....a lot lately
He's learning! LOL.
