I had researched strollers extensively and decided on a Maclaren Quest, it got high ratings, looked great, etc. I like the idea of a jogging stroller but assumed they were out of my price range so did not really pursue it. Well, I was looking online I just found a great deal on the Maclaren MX3 jogging stroller, it is the 2006 model. They normally run for about $400 but I found it for $169 at babye-store. They have black, black/scarlet, and black/lime (I like the black lime). I am so tempted to just buy it! Anyone have this, any advice? Any issues buying a 2006 model (new) in 2009? I looked it up in Baby Bargains and Maclaren gets overall high ratings, but the MX3 did not have much specific discussion. I can find so much info on all the other Maclaren models, but little on this model (good or bad), this is weird. I'm hoping this model is not a dud. Here is the link to the stroller:

Should I just go for it?
Re: Is this deal too good to be true (Maclaren stroller)
I think it is a great deal for a new stroller. Most of the time there are very few additions in new models from year to year, so if it is a stroller that you love, I would buy it. The black in lime is awesome too.
The wheels on that look a little small for a jogging stroller, but I think it would make great regular stroller as well.
I am someone that uses our jogger every week- several times. My DH uses it as well and I would really recommend going to a place to see joggers and their features. If this will be your main jogger and if you run, then there are some things that I would want to see and feel. The wheels do look small, for one. My DH and I are pretty active. We have the Peg Perego PLiko as our main stroller, an umbrella stroller and a BOB jogger.
Also, I do not think Maclaren still makes a jogger. Is there a reason why? Will they still support that jogger?
Babies cannot really go in them for jogging until about 6 months anyway, so my advice is to wait. I would not make this your main stroller.
p.s- I like the maclaren quest as well, but did you see by chance that is for 3 months up, that you cannot put an infant car seat in it and so cannot have the infant baby in it?
They have it on ebay for $155 w/free shipping link
There's also a review here
DH has been doing some consumer reports research on strollers. One stroller he was looking at had a review that said something like "I was jealous of my friends with the cute MacLaren strollers ... until I saw one of them tip over and spill coffee all over the place because she put a shopping bag on the handle."
I have no idea if this was regarding one specific style of MacLaren strollers. I know the ones we saw at BRU yesterday looked pretty lightweight/flimsy, but they were around $100, not $400, so maybe the one you're looking at is a bit more substantial.
