Am i strange for not wanting to go crazy with the nursery?

Of course i want some cute things , but i dont see what the big deal is about over priced bedding that gets poop and spit up on  n e way? My baby wont know the difference and who cares if the stuff doesnt match completely!!!!!

I would much rather save the money and put it toward a college fund.

I think many people go overboard. I won't be posting clicky polls and asking for opinions myself. I'm just doing a room that I like and that can morph into a toddler's room or have aspects of it repurposed for other rooms in the house.I see way too many people become obsessed about a space that will really not be a priority once baby is here.

Now if we are talking about my kitchen renovation or the main floor overhaul I have in mind - THAT I can talk about for hours.

No, not weird. It's something the baby could not care less about and he/she will be ready for a toddler room before you know it.

But this is one of those things that I accept as a way for parents to make themselves happy. It's not about the kid. Sort of like 1st bday parties.
