RP: Baby keeps rejecting left breast only!

he only readily took it last night when he was half asleep... but since then he fights it like crazy, but takes the right one just fine. My left is consistently my overproducer so i don't think it's low supply.   i did some hand expression earlier just to relieve some engorgement since he won't eat! what is the deal and what can i do??

i agree about the letdown being to fast, try expressing alittle first then give it to him and see if he takes it. Offering it while sleepy may help like you said too. DS likes my right better and only takes the left for a few mins and then cries, I switch him and he loves my right bc it produces more.

I had this issue with DS.  I tried the football hold for several feedings and he got over whatever issues he had.  I think it was an overactive MER issue and maybe he just didn't like laying down on his side and not being in control of the milk.
