Finding out the sex?!?!

I posted this under 1st tri. but then I realized most of you ladies have found out already so maybe you guys have some good ideas about what to do!!

So me and my boyfriend have different views on whether or not to find out the sex of the baby. At first I didn't want to at all and he really really wants to. I have sorta changed my mind and decided that it would be nice to be prepared for the first baby especially since we have had enough surprises throughout this whole journey. My idea is to find out before the baby is born,but not?necessarily?at the big u/s... maybe at the shower or wait until mothers day because I want to find out in a cute way so its still fun and surprising! any fun ideas on when to open the sealed envelope or cute ways to find out?? (sry this is so long) thanks for your help ladies!!

Go get a gender determination or the big u/s and have the tech seal the gender on a piece of paper in an envelope. Then, on Mother's Day, open it as a gift to yourself and your bf.

We are finding out in two weeks! We are planning on having the tech write it down, seal it and have a huge fancy family dinner that night for DH to open and reveal with everyone together! I hope it turns out the way I imagine it will! GL!!

Someone (maybe Thatgirlang?) had a cake made and gave them the u/s results to choose the pink or blue frosting to put inside without her knowing.  Then she and DH ate their surprise on a special day.  Someone else chose a pink and a blue onesie and had the salesperson put one of them in a giftbox for the couple to open later.  Have fun!

I was thinking about doing something like this for Mother's Day. I should be having my big u/s just before it. DH doesn't want to wait and I am not sure I have the patience either. I think in the moment I will jsut say TELL ME...

We may wait to tell the family on Mother's Day - not sure. Depends on who we are with. My family is almost 2 hours west and DHs are 3 hours east... so the chance of getting them together is slim...?
