Babies: 0 - 3 Months

3rd Tri Question

I just posted on 3rd tri, but I figured it might make more sense to ask you all this:

I finally found the outfit I want to use for Audrey's hospital picture on zutano.com.  However, their NB size only goes up to 18 in. and they don't make a bigger size in the pattern I want.  I can't decide whether to buy it or not because of that.

Doesn't 18 in. seem a little small?  I could understand 20 in. or so, but 18???

TIA

Re: 3rd Tri Question

  • Your baby will be pretty curled up for the first few weeks, so I think for a hospital pic, this would definately be fine.  My DD swam in her newborn and 0-3 clothing at first, and she was 7lb5oz and 20in.

ditto!  DS and DD were about 8 pounds and they were able to wear newborn for about a month.  New babies are still so curled up.

  • i agree. My 8lb baby was swimming in 0-3 size for a while and is close to 11lbs now and is still in a couple newborn sized outfits. and shes a chubby baby too! (she did grow out of nb onsies a couple weeks ago)?

It's ridiculous how they size some baby clothes! ?

  • My son was born 19 inches which considered to be on the smaller side. When i brought him to the pedi 5 days later they measured him even shorter cause he was curled up. You should be fine. Just don't wash the outfit in the hot water or dry on hottest option.
  • My dd could not wear any newborn outfits with feet attached to them, we had picked out a cute outfit for her picture and her poor legs were all squashed in it, she was 21 1/4 inches at birth though which is at the 95th percentile so maybe she was just really long.

I probably will not buy any newborn sizes for my next child.
