I have both the regular swiffer and the swiffer vac....
I am in LOVE with the vac! It has a swiffer and then it sucks it up into a little chamber which you just dump. I have 3 dogs so it is awesome because of the dog hair on the wood floors.
I have one and I'm not that big a fan, actually. It's fine. But I find I drop stuff like pasta or cereal too often that the swiffer doesn't pick up, so I still have to sweep
maybe its bc mine is older but i find that it doesnt pick up stuff that much! ill even sweep before i use it and in the end i have to get down and wipe up dirt/dust that it pushes around.
I would suggest a Shark cordless vacuum. It has a charger that plugs into the wall and you just take it off the charger. No cords or anything. I love it and it works great on hard floors. Ive had a swiffer sweeper and I like my little vaccum better.
My mom uses one on a regular basis to deal with the massive amounts of hair her Aussie loses. I think it's worth it. I love the cloths - I use them on furniture and such.
I have it and I hate it. The little pads don't stay on it when i'm sweeping and it just seems to push the dirt around. I should have went with the wet jet. I ended up going and buying an old timey mop and broom because the swiffer did nothing but piss me off.

Try the VAC...it gets all the stuff gathered up and then it sucks it up into the little chamber (its like a little dust buster on a stick). It plugs in to charge and then its cordless while you vac.

I too, love my shark!! It even picks up dog hair and such on carpet. I use it on a daily basis.
My mom has the regular swiffer and we have the Wet Jet. I hate them both. Both just push the extra dirt around and you need a broom and dust pan to clean up the rest. I usually sweep with the broom first and then use the Wet Jet afterwards... We are going to be getting a regular vacuum that works on hard floors before the baby starts crawling. We saw one at Lowe's that was about $70 and seemed to be good enough for us (no pets).
If you are to buy something though from Swiffer, I would probably get the Vacuum, sounds like it removes the need for the broom and dust pan. I do like that the Wet Jet cleans/polishes the floors though...
(Oh, and we have the Shark cordless...I think we paid $30-40 for ours...Maybe they vary by model, but it doesn't hold a charge for more than 5 minutes at a time and takes forever to charge. We regret ever buying it. We can't even complete our stairs before it dies.)
