I just got back from my 37 week OB appt.  I met with the midwife and she had me schedule a growth ultrasound for early next week as she said "it feels like a pretty good-sized baby in there"  She said that if the ultrasound measures the baby to be in the 75th percentile or higher, then they would induce before my due date.  I was actually told early in my pregnancy that if the baby is measuring big they will induce a little early as I have a petite frame and won't be able to push a big baby out through my petite pelvic bone.  Anyone else with a similar experience?

Yes.  I have been measuring 2 weeks ahead since 16 weeks.  The baby was estimated at 8.5 pounds TWO weeks ago and 7lbs on 2/21.  I'm getting induced tomorrow, 2 days early and I am praying it is not 9lbs!

Forgot to add that baby has been in the 90th percentile for weight since that 2/21 growth ultrasound.  The tech said "I wouldn't buy many newborn clothes."  Yikes!

I'm being induced 2 weeks early. I have been measuring 2 weeks ahead the entire pregnancy. When they did an ultrasound on 3/17 he was measuring at 4lbs but his head was measuring at 33 weeks. Just because he has a big head my doctor is afraid I wont be able to have a vaginal birth. We are doing a growth scan at 37 weeks and if He is still measuring to big then we will induce or I will have to have a c-section, depending on the size of his head. Oh, he is supposed to be a 10lbs baby if I go to term.

I feel your pain.

I"m so jealous!!  my DS was measuring just over 7lbs at a 32wk growth ultrasound, and has been measuring extremely large all along (95th percentile at least).  My midwife is referring me to an OB for a consult, but not a single mention of inducing early....oh what I wouldn't give to be induced early!!!
