how come some woman get it and some don't? even the smallest of bellies have it.. i suppose i could google it, but then i don't get the joy of talking to you ladies
I have no idea, but I've wondered about this too. Mine showed up freakishly early (sometime in 1st tri around 7-8 weeks I want to say) and is pretty dark for how pale I am.
As you can see in my siggy pic, I definitely have it! It started out on my lower abdomen around 20 weeks and now extends to my boobs (which happened around 27 weeks).
Usually dark or olive skinned women are more prone to it. I'm white as a pasty ghost and I still got it!

I am pasty white too and have it, but not too dark.
Does yours connect? It started out at the bottom and it's really dark. About a month later, I noticed it coming in lighter at the top above my belly button. The top line doesn't connect to the bottom line.
Re: so whats the deal w/ linea nigra?
