Not eating when teething?

DD has not been eating much this week and nursing isn't going very well either. She is not draining even one side in the mornings. I am suspecting it is teething, but how long is this going to last. I don't want her to lose weight while teething. I am getting a little concerned. Any ideas? She hasn't been overly fussy, but a little whiney at times.

Re: Not eating when teething?

  • It's actually pretty common.

Try the Hyland's teething tablets if you haven't already. Those seemed to take the edge off for Will and he would tend to eat a bit more.

  • I would get her ears checked, DS was the same way turns out he had a double ear infection

  • DS doesn't like to suck when he's teething, either. If he's not eating + whiny + waking up a lot at night, I have the pedi check his ears--I've been right about ear infections twice now. If she continues to not be herself, that may be another possibility.
