DS sick and has weird facial rash

I noticed DS had this weird rash earlier in the day after his second nap. Only one cheek is really hot and red. We did introduce a new food, but it was after the rash showed up, so that's not what this is. Any ideas?

And he is coughing this weird half cough right now every 10 minutes or so. He kind of wakes up every time it happens and then settles down, only to cough again. He doesn't wake up enough to fuss a whole lot and I don't want to wake him to check him, but I am worried. Poor kid. If he keeps coughing like that I may see if we can bring him in with us because it reminds me of how I cough when I can't breathe well (I have asthma).

We are moving and I don't want him to be miserable the entire time and then freak out because nothing is familiar and he is sick, you know?

idk but i would check with the doctor to see what they think

When DS was recently sick he had a bright red "rash" on both cheeks. It almost looked like someone had painted both cheeks. When I took him to the pedi she said it was just because he was coming down with something (which we knew) and it was probably still going to get worse. But, that's just my experience, so call the pedi to be sure! Hope he feels better soon!
