BH Contractions?

OK, maybe I'm stupid, but no book or google article has ever mentioned what these things feel like! I know there have been posts in the past, but either I didn't read 'em, or my placenta brain has thrown away the memory.

Basically, it feels like the baby kicking, but not very hard, and in a perfect rythm. It's perfectly timed, every 4 seconds for a minute or 2. And they're very low in my uterus.

I'm assuming they're some sort of contractions and that my baby isn't some sort of dance prodigy.

SO! Am I stupid, or have I come to the correct assumption??

Re: BH Contractions?

  • Well, I had some BHs around 18 weeks and my whole ute would tightened and get hard.  They wouldn't hurt, it just felt like a tight muscle...

  • That actually sounds more like hiccups. BH contractions feel like belly is really tight, no pain, just tight.  It's almost like when you get your blood pressure taken.  They usually last a few seconds and they should be more sporatic and not so much predictable.

    This.
  • Mine gets them around 3 or 4 times a day. Some babies have them more often, others less.
  • Yep, definitely sounds like hiccups :) My baby had them for about 5 straight minutes today - I even got them on camera for a bit, it was funny to watch!
  • Yup definitely hiccups!!!  They are very cute.  My baby gets them 5-6 times a day, sometimes for as long as 5-10 minutes.  It is very cute until it happens at night when you are trying to sleep! :0)
  • When I get these, I think it's one of the babies having hiccups. We caught it on one of the u/s's.
