Maybe it's a stupid question but I see many posts prefaced with a comment that you noticed your supply is going down. How did you notice? Especially if you EBF vs pump?
I pump during work and noticed the amount decreased by a lot---and when I'm actually just nursing him--I can almost 'feel' it in the breast--not as full-feels empty. And he's not as satisfied. He used to nurse off only one side and would be full --now he's emptying both.
I notice when Colin is hungry, but doesn't stay latched. Also I don't "Fill" up when he is nursing or I don't feel a letdown. I always feel a letdown. I almost always get engorged too when it has been a couple of hours. If I am not engorged, I know there is an issue.
It only became a problem for me when I came back to work and was pumping instead of EBFing. I could be wrong, but I think it is a more common problem for pumpers because the pump just isn't as efficient as the baby.
Thanks everyone. DS now empties both sides plus he fusses when he's done with nursing but he's totally happy for the next 3-4 hours, doesn't act hungry. So I wasn't sure if supply went down or his active self can't stand to be still once the nursing is done.
