3rd Trimester

Now I just have to tell my boss...

(Sorry, it's a bit lengthy)

?I've been working insanely hard at work lately- I'm pretty sure my boss is thinking he needs to get as much work out of me as possible before I take off.

It's been getting to be too much, and I'm not sleeping, and walking has become difficult bc of my pelvic pain, and I have a 2+ hour commute.

This morning the doc said, "That's it! No more work for you!" I couldn't believe myself when I pleaded to have her lessen the note to part time. Afterall, I've been DYING to stop working and focus on my body and my baby. For some reason, having it become a reality was much different than I anticipated.

I noticed as I was leaving the appointment that she wrote "Must only work part time", and then added- "No work at 36 weeks MAX!"?

I'm feeling guilty about leaving... but I also feel like my boss is making it impossible for me to leave. He's been slamming my schedule extra ever since we started looking for my replacement-- I have no time to look through the candidates and find one! Maybe his thought is that if I don't find a temp then I won't leave?

I really don't even know how to bring up this morning's appointment to him...?

  • Ahh how exciting!  And stressful I'm sure, but it's Dr's orders and your boss can't blame you for it, especially if you've been putting in 110% up until now...once you get it off your chest you'll feel better...enjoy your new schedule!

  • BTW, what do you do?  And have you been having any issues?  I ask because I don't have a very physically demanding job but I've been experiencing alot of pain and discomfort lately, just wondering if I might get the ok to stop a little early..

Good for you. You deserve a break!!  They'll survive without you; they have to!  Just start wrapping things up in the week or two that you're part-time and relax and enjoy there after :)
