My cousin (from my mom's side) is pg with twins-the first in a long while. I think my Great-Grandma was a twin though. And DH's family has twins every other generation-his generation is due for them.

So, twins run only on the girl side right? The guy's side has nothing to do with it right?

I've never heard that before. Twins run in my family and DH's family as well, so we have a pretty good chance of having them.

That is correct. It only matters on the girls side.

Yes, twins only run on the girls side. It is ovulating 2 eggs in one cycle...so your husband and his side of the family have nothing to do with how many eggs you ovulate. (and only fraternal twins run in families)

Jen- Thanks, that's what I thought but I wasn't 100% and MIL keeps saying that we're going to have twins because of DH's family. (that woman confuses me all the damn time!)

And my cousin (on my mom's side) was told they think her twins are fraternal, not identical if that makes a difference.

Duh.  That makes sense.  Well I am still in the running for twins.  My mom is a twin and her grandfather was a twin.

Identical twins are not genetic though. They are just s*it luck, at least thats what the Dr told my SIL when she had them.

Identical twins are a total fluke-an egg splitting. Fraternal twins-from releasing more than one egg-you can inherit from your mother. The guy brings nothing to the table in terms of twins. He is not helping you release more than one egg or helping an egg split.
