Quick question - mixing fresh and previously frozen?

I'm traveling with LO today, and I'd planned on pumping enough to make a large bottle to take with us.  Well, the boobs aren't cooperating as planned and I've only pumped half as much as I need.  Can I take a bag out of the freezer, warm it to room temp and add it to the fresh milk I just pumped? And once I do that, can I keep it at room temp in my bag until I get where I'm going (about 6 hours if baby doesn't use it)?

No- you can't keep it out that long if it is going to have frozen milk combined with the fresh milk.

what i would suggest is to take the fresh milk- you can keep that out for longer in a separate bottle and then take the frozen milk in the freezer bag or bottle with you with a cooling unit and defrost when baby wants it.

You can mix them together at once they are close to the same temp, but you wont want to leave warmed previously frozen milk out that long, so I would bring them separated and combine them when you are ready to use.
