Help with "#2"

Anyone have any little tricks for getting #2 to move along?  :)  When I was a kid my mom always gave us dried appricots.  I ate 4 this morning... not working yet.  I have some prunes at home too... guess I'll eat them after work.  If the dried fruit doesn't work... I know someone once posted what OTC things were safe... metemucil maybe?

  • Two words: prune juice.  It works better than prunes.  Drink a few ounces tonight and wait and see.  If nothing, drink a little more tomorrow.  Don't drink too much, though, or you'll regret it!

  • I got so bad I had to take some Milk of Magnesium. I took too much though. So start with a half dose.

  • I take two Metamucil pills a day. I've been doing this since before BFP though since I have IBS. They really do seem to help, since I haven't experienced nearly the constipation many on here have. I'm able to go #2 maybe every other day or even every day. Now that I'm on an iron supplement, I'm back to every other day or 3... =( 
  • Like pp said, prune juice works for a lot of people.  It didn't for me, but I know a few people that have had success with it.  I take one colace in the morning, and if I haven't gone in 2 days I take it twice a day.  You can also use Miralax- that's what finally "got things moving" for me.  GL!
