co-sleeping...

DS woke up at 5am this morning SCREAMING scared, I went in there and he pointed at the shadow on the wall and said "noooooo." So I took him in my bed (first time) and I was hoping he'd go back to sleep-he did! I got to lay there with my baby for an hour and cuddle. It was AWESOME!!! I never get to cuddle him anymore.

I'm jealous of all you cosleeping momma's out there! DH refuses to let DS in our bed, unless something like this happens.

Re: co-sleeping...

  • I didn't care what he said.  DS and DD could sleep in our bed whenever they wanted to.  The whole family slept better when the kids were in our bed.

They still sleep with me...and I LOVE it!

  • I know what you mean!  DS woke up the other night screaming "Mama come get me!"  I pulled him in bed with me since DH was sleeping on the couch since he was sick.  He went right to sleep.  It was so nice.  Until he woke me up an hour later kicking me.  He tosses and turns a lot and he kept waking me up so I had to put him back in his crib.  It was nice while it lasted though!

  • We co-sleep PT, meaning, he goes to bed in his own bed but usually is in our bed by 11 or 12.

It is nice to cuddle, but he is ALL OVER THE PLACE, he hogs the bed and is a restless sleeper (most 2 year olds are)

I wish he slept in his own bed all night, as much as I love snuggling him...

  • I only have DS in our bed occasionally, since he's a pretty flipfloppy sleeper these days.

But DD has slept with me every night of her little life and it's so nice. Although she does take up a godawful amount of room for a person who only weighs 14 lbs. LOL

  • Hmm.. ya'll are right, he probably would be kicking, tossing, and turning a lot and then I'd have zero sleep. Maybe I do like that he's in his own bed...but I looooved that hour this morning!
  • DD sleeps in her room but she wanders into ours most nights at some point & we all curl up.  But she's generally a total bed hog and flings herself all over the place.

What's worked for scary things/monsters/invisible creepy things is we told her to say "Go Home Monster!" (or bug, or spider, whatever) and they're scared of people and like to go home b/c sometimes they get lost.  I know, we're so full of crap LOL  But it works.  Some night we hear her yell that, then she passes back out.

  •  ditto mel, B falls asleep in her bed but she'll wake up at some point and I just bring her to our bed.

awe that is too sweet! I'll have to remember that...
  • DD (almost 4) sleeps all night every night in her own bed. DS (2) sleeps most nights in his bed and lately has been coming into our bed around 2 am. Most nights we don't even know when he comes in, he doesn't say anything, just crawls between us and goes to sleep. DD #2 is sleeping in our room and most nights sleeps in bed w/ us too, I can't always get her to sleep in the co-sleeper.
