I have always mixed the cereal with formula and then mixed baby food in that. Daycare told me they started mixing the cereal flakes in straight with the baby food to thicken it. I'm sure this is fine, but is there any reason I should ask them to go back to doing it my way??

Re: Do you mix cereal with formula or directly with food?
I never mixed cereal with anything but plain water or I use it now to thicken her food. I was pumping for crap back then so didn't want to possible "waste" the BM if she didn't eat the cereal and makinig an ounce of formula was a pain in my butt lol.
If your baby needs those extra calories/nutritional aspects then sure tell them to mix with formula.
I mix cereal with fruits or veggies.
When we first started out I did it with formula.
we mixed it in with her food b/c it was the only way she'd eat it. Then she got used to it and wanted it in there. We still mix it in but we ran out a couple days.
I started mixing it with juice to make it taste better for ds and also to prevent him from constipation! I add some fruit in it too!
He didn't like it with formula!
As long as your baby is getting enough formula per day it shoudn't really matter!
