Let me just tell you about the night we had last night. So my doc called me in some meds for my nausea. I decided to get cleaned up and dressed and go to the pharmacy around 6:45ish...all day yesterday DH was complaining about bad pains in his chest and back when he breathed in. (now he's not the type of man that whines when he is sick, and never goes to the doctor unless it's bad). Then he says, "wait I'll go with you, I think I need to go to the immediate care center" So I'm freaking out b/c it must be really bad pains for THIS.
Once we go get my medicine, he then says he's feeling better and doesn't need to go. Little did I know he just wanted to come home to watch the UK vs Notre Dame game! UGH...men. After the game (since the immediate care center was closed), he decides we need to get to the ER. Come to find out he has Pleurisy (fluid around the lining of your lungs) causing his lungs and bronchials to spasm when he breathed in deep.
Anyway, it was the shortest time I'd ever been in the ER. They got him back and did x-rays so quickly we were in and out in about 2 hours total. He's doing much better this morning, with 2 inhalers, antibiotics and anti-inflamatory meds...we got home around midnight but it would've been sooner if he didn't have to watch his precious UK game. ![]()
Re: So I took DH to the ER last night
Grr DH, All for a game....
And ya, ER's don't mess around when anybody comes in complaining of chest pains. We had this THREE times last year w/ DH. He was seen pretty darn quickly all three times. Although 2 of the times his coworker brought him in. Fortunately is was nothing but anxiety. He finally, reluctantly agreed to be put on meds.
Glad to hear you DH is ok though and hope it clears up quickly.

We joked last night that from now on we'll throw in the "chest pain" symptom too to get back there quick!
I'm glad to hear your DH is ok too...was he having panic attacks and everything? I used to have panic attacks and heart palpatations (sp?) years ago, but it ended up being nothing but anxiety. I don't have them anymore though (thank goodness) but you just never know when it's chest pain...that's something you don't mess around with!
