Infertility

Waiting..is the hardest part...

I had my blood drawn on Monday and still haven't gotten my progesterone levels yet from my OB.  I'm just really anxious since they called me the next day last time.  I'm hoping for good news....but am nervous because I don't know how I didn't know this....but I know we had used lubricant a couple times during our BD this month.  I just hope it wasn't on the important days.  From what I'm understanding this is a 'sperm' friendly lubricant?  Where do I find it?

According to the calendar I should be able to take a test tomorrow.  No signs of AF yet.  I did cheat and took a test this AM...and apparently went with the force of a hurricane because I didn't even get a control line to turn pink.  WHAT?!

This is so frustrating!

  • I am sorry that you haven't gotten your results yet. I hope that they come out good. I have a question though - are you testing your progesterone 7 days post ovulation? If so, how are you already testing? Aren't you only around 9 days post ovulation now? If so, it's way too early to test! Just curious....I really hope your test results come out good.

As for the lubricants, I wouldn't use any - even sperm friendly during your ovulation. Good luck!

  • Yes...I'm a little impatient with everything in my life.  I had my progesterone levels tested on day 24...so today would've been day 26.  Is it best to test a week after your missed period?  Is that rule of thumb?  I guess what my levels are will determine if I even need to.  My cycles are so all over the place, even with the Clomid.  If I were a "normal" person I should get AF sometime this weekend.

     Thanks!

  • The sperm friendly lubricant you're probably thinking of is called "Pre-Seed" and you can buy it pretty cheaply on Amazon... that said, we used it for several months and I sort of became worried that it might be hurting even though it's supposed to help.  I felt like it made everything "fall out" afterward.  So now I still keep some in my cabinet, but I only use the tiniest bit of it if needed, instead of the whole "dose" that is recommended on the packaging.

Just curious - did you have a bad experience with supposed sperm friendly lubricants, or are you doubtful that they actually work.  I've read all the testimonials on the Pre-Seed website, but I would like some TTTC opinions on this stuff.  I started using it in January.
