Well lo and behold we are successfully in the potty training mood. Short story:

After two weeks of success, even in school, we needed a "break" (so off to the in laws, Mario goes)(Saturday evening till Sunday Morning, with STRICT instructions to follow the training)...fast forward to the morning call to see how mario is doing, WHILE my mother in law was on the phone with DH, she hears a scream...MARIO, my little boy, had gotten his penis slammed by the toilet seat!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say its swollen & bruised, but he says its FINE. There's no blood, he pees fine, no pain, etc...just a purple colored pee pee....

SO head this as a warning, the older model toilets seats (WOODEN) with the little "Balls" as the stablizer is what "GOT" Mario's pee pee....

We feared that this would be detrimental to his potty training experience, but he is FINE....

I have never seen my father repair something so fast...

FYI: He bought a Kohler Cachet Quiet-Close Quick-Release Toilet Seat

We have had these installed in our bathrooms since pre babies due to the quiet feature and NOW realize the value for potty training boys....

Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm not there yet, but OUCH!!! YAY!!! for him trying.

My cousin had those installed, she loves them. Once we are ready to get a house, I plan on getting them as well.

thats always a fear I have for alex. Every time I hear the toilet seat slam down after he pees, I cringe, and hope that he didnt close it on himself!!! I hope Mario feels better soon, im sure this is a story he wont forget for a long time.
