It is very comfortable. DD was in a sling most of the time, but the Ergo is very cozy and has been a godsend when she is sick and won't be put down, but doesn't have the energy to support herself. It was also great when she was overtired and fussy- to strap her in and go for a walk- easier to remove a sleeping baby from the ergo than the sling. She prefers to face out when healthy.
I will use the sling primarily with the twins again, but plan to incorporate the ergo more.

I have one and it was a godsend with DD when she was little. I used the infant insert and that's where she would nap for the longest time. She's not keen on it now but a lot of it is because I think she gets too hot and she likes her personal space. The great thing about it is you can wear it with the baby facing in on front, on back or on the side. And my big thing was it distributed the weight so it wasn't all on my shoulders like the Bjorn. Final nice thing is that you can use it up to 40lbs, which means quite some time! I will warn you that I've heard for women who are petite and on the shorter side, it's not as comfy, but check around your area and you'll likely find some place that sells them and you can try it out for yourself.
