Does anyone have any experience with their Child Development Center? I am going on a tour in the next few weeks, but would love some feedback if you have any. Thanks!
We toured this place and love however the waitlist is soooooo long. If you can put your name in, I'd put it early. The Director Myra is the sweetest lady. Good luck!
Our neighbor takes their son there and they love it. In the interest of full disclosure, her MIL is a teacher there, so not sure if that takes away or adds to my first statement.
Great Thanks! It does have a long waiting list, but I might could get in by next January which may just have to work at this point for me (the waiting list everywhere is crazy). Luckily the 3 months that I should be working is during Thanksgiving/Christmas and my MIL is a teacher with lots of time off so I think I could be creative for a few months.
Several of my co-workers have their children at this CDC and have been very happy with them. We wound up sending our son to an in-home babysitter, but if we had not gotten a spot with her - this program was one of our top choices.
I have daycare reviews in my bio - here is what I said about Brookhaven UMC.
BrookhavenUMCChildDevelopmentCenter: A
I visited this program after being referred to them by a co-worker. The program is a church-based and located in the BrookhavenUnitedMethodistChurch. The program director was very friendly over the phone and was able to set me up for a tour. The facility is smaller and they have 100 children in the program. When I toured it was ?lunchtime? and everything was running in an orderly fashioned (they do say prayers before meals and have a weekly chapel that the children all participate in.) I checked out the menu and it looked like they provided good wholesome foods. The infant room is staffed employees who have been with the program for many, many years. It felt like my child was being watched by a grandmother. Overall, I would feel comfortable with this program. They are not fancy, but very sweet and family oriented. They do have a waiting list, but they do not charge an ?application fee? to be on it. They just ask that if you do find alternate arrangements to let them know so can be removed from the waiting list so your spot will be available for the next family.
