Hello from the hospital! (long update)

Hi Ladies! ?Well, I did it - Emily Catherine is here and hanging out with her Daddy on the "couch/guest bed". ?She's the most wonderful little being and I'm so in love. ?

Her birth wasn't bad at all, the actual surgery was a breeze, the worst part of the surgery was the nurses had to stick me 4 times to draw blood. ?Even the epi wasn't bad. ?Recovery hasn't been too horrible. ?Early on, I tried to be the strong one and ended up in a lot of pain and on the verge of throwing up. ?And let me tell you, when your stomach has just been cut open and it a lot of pain, the last thing you want to do it vomit. ?They gave me two shots - pain meds and anti-nausea and I've been good since then.

Emily is a day-sleeper, she's been sleeping since almost 7:00am. ?But she was up nursing all night last night. ?We're going to have to work on that one. It is a little difficult with the LC's because each of them tell us something different, so we haven't found a happy medium for nursing. I'm sure it will come in time.

Today is shower day, I haven't had a shower since Monday and I'm ready. ?My epi was taken out a few hours ago and I'm just waiting for the thing in my hand to be taken out. ?Then I'm free! ?I don't have to drag the annoying IV pole with me. ?It's the small things that really make a difference.
