Car Seats

Just wondering when others are going to start buying/installing their car seats.  The crazy type A in me thinks I should have done it at about 6 weeks pregnant but that'd be silly.

Are you having a shower & did you register? I would wait until after that to see if you get the seat. Last time I installed mine in my car about 2 weeks prior to my due date. I went to the fire department & had them install it to make sure it was done properly. I had to call about a month ahead to make an appointment though.

I cannot remember, but I think Baby Bargains recommends that you put it in there some time during 3rd tri just to be safe.

We bought our travel system about a month ago because I found it at Baby Depot (its hard to find) and just bought it.  I don't know when we'll get around to installing the base in the car though... haven't really thought about it yet!  Maybe I need a little more Type A in me...

You mean you can't just throw a Pack N Play in the back of the car and the baby in it too? You have to buy an actual seat??

Damn, there goes the bedazzled socks and matching shoe collection I was going to buy the baby.?

lol  We are going to install it probably just as soon as we get it.  Might as well, right?  We registered for a Graco travel system + an extra base.  If I don't receive it as a shower gift (which I doubt but that'd be super generous, hah!), then we'll probably just get it sometime in July (I'm due August 25).

as i'm kinda hoping to get it at my shower, i'll be getting it or buying it afterwards at around 30 weeks. i will prob install the base in the car around 38 weeks and then just have the carrier on stand-by for when we head to the hospital.

Red if you wanted to do that you could just come to New Mexico!  But you don't even need the PNP-just a pick up truck!  After all, a truck has a bed!  Then you could afford the baby bangs that are going around right now.  Really, you have to pick your priorities, and I don't see how bedazzled socks could be anything but the top!
