I didn't want to post in the post below as I have gained 14 pounds..not 0! I'm feeling huge right now as I was a little bit overweight when I first got pregnant. Anyone else there with me? Has your doc given you a hard time? I'm nervous for my appt. next week....I feel like I have stayed active and tried not indulge too much but it has still just packed on this time - ugh.
Re: HA! I came to this board to ask about weight gain at 19 weeks....
I think 14 lbs is normal weight gain for 19 weeks.
LOL!!! Please, you're fine, absolutely fine!
My BMI was 24.9 or something right before I got pregnant - so I was a bit chubby. As of 20 weeks, I've gained 10 lbs.
WIth my first pregnancy, I started out 10 lbs lighter than I was this time around , and had gained 20 lbs by this point - and was up 38 lbs when I delivered at 33 1/2 weeks. I had borderline GD though, changed what I ate and my weight gain slowed down a lot.
If you're worried, eh, watch the carbs, eat more fruits and veggies, and try to indulge just one or two times a week. Otherwise, don't worry unless your doc says something.
And kudos for staying active!! I think that's way more important than keeping the lbs under a certain number.
At my last appointment (at 18 weeks), I had only gained 6 pounds but my doctor said that is right on track. When I told her I thought it was normal and healthy to gain 25-30 pounds during pregnancy she said that is true but no one is a freak if they gain a little less or a little more. Since you've gained 14 pounds at 19 weeks along, I'd say you're perfectly normal! Seriously, don't worry about it - it's for a good cause!
