Pregnant after a Loss

I didn't get the job :(

And I'm really upset about it.  What was the point of bringing me back for a lesson plan?? She said the other lady had more elementary education experience whereas my experience is more preschool.  She offered me a job starting in the fall, and it's like sorry! I'm having a baby in the fall!

I'm upset because it's a big blow to the ego.  I know I'm a damn good teacher and it's been so hard finding a job and every day I get bigger and nobody is gonna hire a visibly pregnant person.

At this point, I'm just so stressed out with money and stuff.

  • I'm so sorry.  I hope everything works out soon!!!  Money is so stressful.  ((HUGS))
  • I'm sorry - I know how you wanted this job. Maybe this means that something even better will come along in it's place. Are there any other schools you are looking into?
  • I'm so sorry Lucky, I hope you find something soon.

I applied to another school a few hours ago.  I'm focusing on the biggest blessing in my life, this baby.  I'm trying not to stress about money bc it's not good for the baby, but it's still hard.

  • so sorry this one didn't work out. I know better one is just around the corner for you!

  • Blah, I'm sorry. Did you tell them why you're turning down the job in the fall? Maybe they'd be able to work with you?

Yeah I told her starting a job in the fall wouldn't be an option because of the baby.  It would be weird to start a job for 4 weeks and then take 8 weeks leave.

She said she's keeping my resume on file if something else opens up.

  • I am sorry.  Look at the positive if you can.....you were the SECOND person and did not have the experience.  :-)  You must have done something right.

  • I am so sorry Lucky!  I know you will find just the right job very soon!
  • Aww, I'm sorry Lucky!  I was really hoping this was it for you!  But to even be second in line is a compliment :)
  • Boo!  I'm sorry.  I graduated in 2000 and had a really hard time finding a teaching job.  I subbed for 2 years, then worked for my YMCA for 3 years and in 2005 got a mid year teaching job in an inner city school in Wilmington, DE.  At the end of the year, they cut my job and I went back to searching....with nothing panning out I went back to my YMCA job.  I will be going part time after the baby is born.  Good luck with your search and I hope you land a job quicker than I did and that it is a job that sticks around!
