Leaking fluid?

How would you know if you are leaking fluid?  Is it a continuous drip of watery discharge?  I just saw the topic posted below and wanted to know.  Just curious.

Re: Leaking fluid?

  • It would continue, in spurts or just a trickle (it would not be a one-time thing).  If you even *think* you might be leaking fluid, call your doctor.  They have little strips that test the fluid to see if it's your water that has broken.

  • This happened to me when I was pregnant, I had a constant wetness and passed it off and pressure on my bladder, I asked my doctor about it and she game me a strip of litmus paper and said it would turn blue if it was amniotic fluic.  Well mine turned teal so i went to emergency and I was leaking fluid, i was put on bedrest and heavy antibiotics to fight infection and was fortunate enough not to deliver my son until 37 weeks (with an induction).  Mine did stop leaking

I had daily visits from nurses and one of them said that they suspect some of the time they think the sack swells and releases some of the fluid without actually rupturing (think if it gets to full and is porus).  Anyways since there is no way to prove it they treat with worst case scenario.

If anyone has any more detailed questions please dont hesitate to page me or pm me.
