Maternity shirts that grow with you?

Since almost all of my pants have decided (practically overnight, it seems) to stop cooperating with my bloat, I am realizing how short/tight most of my shirts are.  Can anyone recommend a maternity shirt (or just any shirt) that I could wear right now without looking stupid, but one that I can get at least some use out of once my tummy starts to grow?

  • Buy some maternity cami-tank things from Old Navy and longer length shirts in a size up from what you normally wear. These have all carried me farther than any maternity shirt I've purchased. Any shirt that becomes a little too short you can put the tank under. And don't buy a ton right now because at about 30 weeks you'll need to go shopping again.

And dresses will be your best friend. Old navy has a TON of cute dresses right now. Even the non-maternity ones are working for me. (PS: their dresses run BIG)

  • You can probably also find some cheapie target/old navy/forever 21 flowy tops that are regular women's.  I wear a lot of my empire waist regular clothes right now.  Also the shirts that have pleating just under the collar bone and are flowy from there, sort of tunic style work great.  I'm wearing one today.  And then you'll have looser clothes for post baby when you hate all of your maternity and don't want to be showing your tummy off in something that hugs your body.
  • With DS I expanded quickly, but it was all in my lower stomach. I stuck to Empire Waisted shirts. ?This got me through until the 3rd tri.
  • Banana Republic always has cute flowy shirts. ?Luckily I already liked this looser style and have a few---they usually also have a sale rack in back to choose from!?
