We are suppose to chip in 25cents everytime we get a mug of coffee at work. I have been doing it all along, but since I've been told that I'm laid off (as of the 31st), I'm not contributing.
I see where you're coming from, but just to play the mean b!tch - I don't know how it works in your office, but around here, if there's a coffee service and the money comes up short, it has to come out of someone's pocket. And it's usually the pocket of the person who's generous enough to organize everything. I don't think 25 cents is going to break you.

Payment for the coffee invoice is made by me (I work in the finance department). Anything short (which we always are) is paid by the company. There are sooo many more things that they could cut out to save money (other than having the employees pay for there coffee).
Sorry. I'm with Dailight. Much as I would be pissed and wanting to get back at the company, is it coming out of the company's pocket or whoever is organizing the coffee? In every company I worked in, we just had someone in our group buying the coffee, creamer, etc. so if they came up short, they would have to cover the difference. I wouldn't want to "punish" another coworker for this.
Re: I have a confession.
Liam is 5!
