Camera recs? Under $300

Well....our camera that we have had for 5 years has finally bit the dust. We have been needing to get a new one so this gives us a good excuse!

I would like a point and shoot, with a fast shutter speed and good quality images. What do you have that you would recommend? Anything you would recommend we stay away from? Also - we need to keep it under $300.

I think mine was just $300 and I love it. It's the Canon powershot...got great reviews.

Canons are great. I rarely hear anything bad about them, especially in the low-end models.

Takes great pics and you can even take underwater pics! We use this camera as our travel camera and absolutely LOVE it. The girls love to swim and it is so cool to be able to take pics of them swimming and underwater.

We just got the cannon powershot sx1101s, I got it when target had it on sale a few weekends ago, but you can get them for $249.
