First off I just ordered my hotsling and waiting for it to arrive but I'm wondering if it's too late to use for NIP since DD is almost 4 months.Next, how do you actually do it? Is it really necessary to have nursing tops?
I have a sleepy (moby) wrap, a nojo, and a peaunt shell. Not a hotsling, but the last 2 are similar. With the sleepy I've never attempted it b/c she's very upright in it. I have done it with the peanut shell but she was about 6 weeks old at the time. But to answer your question, you just put them in the sling facing you, sort of wrapped around your body like when you nurse, and slide them over toward the side you want to nurse on. However, if you are trying to NIP I'd say yes, you need a nursing tank otherwise your stomach and back will be hanging out when you pull up your shirt. HTH.
