Overnight diapers?

We do cloth, but I'd like a little more absorbency for overnight.  (We currently use a Kushies AIO with an extra prefold.)  For the past two nights we've had 4-ish am night wakings that I believe were diaper related.

What do/did you use for your 2 month old?

Did you/do you change the diaper after a night feeding?

Re: Overnight diapers?

  • We just had our first night-time leak with our 7-week-old, and it was with the gdiapers. To be fair, it was a TON of pee...she must have been holding it all night. We never had a problem with them before, so I don't think it's a usual thing. We stopped changing her after a night feeding because it would just screw up her routine. Now, we sort of wake, feed, and zonk back out.

  • I can't help you with the cloth diaper thing but we always changed Cruz before a feeding at night so that he could go back to sleep while nursing, but if we didn't change him then he would have leaked all over!

  • At that age we used bumgenius as our overnight diaper.  We switched to Goodmamas around 3.5 months and have been using those ever since.  We stopped changing her during the night around 6 or 8 weeks (unless she poops).  She goes 12 hours in her overnight diaper with very few leaks.
  • We also didn't use cloth, but we would change his diaper before feeding when he woke at night.

  • BumGenius with hemp inserts.

  • I agree - try different kinds of inserts.  We love hemp inserts and also have loved bumGenius bamboo fitteds.
