EBFers whose DC STTN, does this happen to you?

DD just started sleeping in 5-8 hour stretches last week.  She doesn't STTN every single night, but she's getting close.  This morning she woke up at 6am after going to bed at 11pm, and I noticed that my boobs weren't engorged and painful like they usually are after 3+ hours.  Do you think my body is just adjusting, or is this a problem and my milk may be drying up?  During the day I still feed her every 1.5-3 hours (SAHM), so I definitely "use" my boobs.  WDYT?  I'm worried.  :-/

  • Your body is definitely adjusting to your dd's new night schedule.  JUst keep feeding her on demand and your supply should not suffer.

  • When I took a breastfeeding class, the instructor said it takes 3 days for your supply to adjust to a new schedule.  Perhaps this is what is happening.
  • Thanks so much, you've made me feel better! Hopefully we're just adjusting to a new schedule.   :)
  • My DS slept through the night 4 times so far, 3 of the nights were in a row.  By the 2nd night I was a lot less engorged and even less on the 3rd.  He hasn't slept through the night since and I have no problems nursing in the night.  It is amazing how fast our bodies adjust.
