If you were induced what did you make sure you had done around the house?

I am being induced on Tuesday and now I feel like I don't have anything done around the house.  The baby's room is ready.  The bags are packed for the hospital.  I feel like I have to make sure the house is spotless before I go to the hospital and I don't think it is going to happen.  DD has an ear infection and I want to spend as much time with her this weekend as possible.  Should I get to work on cleaning the house or just relax?  Sorry, I am starting to freak out a little.

  • I had the house spotless and everything set to go.  That said, I am a planner and it was my first so I did not already have a little one at home to take care of.  Looking back, I wish I had relaxed and enjoyed the quiet time.  Once we came home and were not sleeping, I could have cared less what my house looked like.  Enjoy your little girl and good luck!

  • I was induced both times and felt the major need to have a spotless house too.  I think that's natural.  I would say just do what you can and enjoy these last few days of relative peace=)  And good luck on Tuesday!!

  • was induced with both.. with #1, I was on bedrest prior.. my house was a cluttery mess!  dh did very little... talk about aggravating...we had nothing in the house. mil dropped food off the first couple of weeks we were home (thank God)... I still had bad pree symptoms for 2 wks post partum and high b/p for 6 wks pp.  I wish I had planned ahead of time.. but s/s started at 31wk and dd was born at exactly 37wk .

with #2, I froze some meals ahead of time... I was worried that if I had pree again, dd would just eat junk... so starting early in the third tri, when I'd make a casserole, I'd make enough to freeze a meal for later.  That was handy.   I tried to keep up with the house, but started having pree symptoms again and had to lay low for a full week before induction.  so it was a mess... luckily my parents came up to stay with us and cleaned for us.

  • The house was spotless - but that was only b/c I was a week overdue, didn't have another child to care for, and knew there was a possibility we'd have a big party at our house 8 days after the birth (which we did) and I wanted the house to be ready.  Relax and enjoy this time with DD :)

  • I was induced, & I would say just relax the most you can. Maybe stop by & get a few things from the grocery store. Good luck on Tuesday!!
