Gift for DH help....

My DH has been a constant source of support for me over the last 4 months while I was looking for a job.  He just never ever let me down....I cant even say how much it has meant to me.  I dont want to go crazy or anything, but would like to get him some kind of very special gift just to let him know how much I appreciate him.   I need it do be something super thoughtful.   Any of you creative ladies out there have any ideas for me?

Re: Gift for DH help....

  • Does he have any special hobbies?  If it's golf, let me know and I can help you with a custom wedge or driver--DH is an addict and I've been buying him clubs through the years.

Also, an experience gift is always nice--example Nascar Driving experience or a day at the spa.

Another gift that a friend did for her boyfriend was a really nice compass so he could always find his way back to her :)

  • I really like the compass idea.

What about a really nice man date.  Like tickets to the Braves with lots of beer and hot dogs and then stay the night over at a fun Buckhead hotel.

  • Shoot, I'm no help. The hubs gets excited over a new vegetable peeler. He also like fine Italian leather shoes. I think I married a girl. Wink

Maybe give him a night out with the boys. DH loves to go shoot the sh!t with his buds over a case of PBR...

Does he like grill stuff? My DH is happiest when he's in front of his charcoal grill making fires. I got him a laser thermometer to use with it and you'd thought I'd handed him the keys to the kingdom.

  • I would suggest a really nice romantic night for two.  You can give him a nice back massage with oils and prepare a nice relaxing bubble bath for him if he is that kind of guy (who likes being pampered like that), make a nice home cooked meal (his favorite) with the kids over at the grandparents for the night or something.  And you can do candles all over the place.  Get a really nice outfit to wear for him or something. I think he would be really appreciative of that.
  • If you are looking for some grill stuff, like Myrall mentioned, Currant in downtown Woodstock is going out of business and I know they had some cool grilling gear. ? ?And other foodie stuffs. ?All of that in addition to their girly gifts.?

  • All great ideas ladies!   You know, I hadnt even thought of giving him a night out with this friends....thats kind of awful of me huh?  He hasnt done that in ages.  I may try to work in all your ideas around that central theme.  Thanks again..you've given me some things to think about!

  • I like the experience idea...

This sounds a little cheesy, but does he have any interest in sky diving? My DH would die to to this.

But I was thinking you could do a play on "leap of faith" and how his faith in you has gotten your family through this, etc....
