New here...hoping for a short stay...

I had a miscarriage this past Sunday at 5 weeks, 2 days. At first the doctor thought it might just be a little "normal" bleeding, but my hcg level on Monday was less than 5 and an ultrasound showed nothing...

The doctor there recommended waiting for next AF for "dating purposes." Since I've been charting since November, I am not concerned about dating purposes. They will just have to take my word for it.

Are there any other risks of trying right away? If my hormone levels and uterus looked "normal," would there be any other reason not to try right away?

The medical community seems to be mixed on whether or not there is a risk of trying again right away. IMO, since you had a natural miscarriage and it was relatively early, I would think any risk should be low. You should know that your cycle may be a little different this cycle though. Good luck!

I'm sorry for your loss.  I hope your stay here is short!

My doctor told me to wait one cycle until we tried.  We didn't use protection because we didn't want to wait, but I do not believe I ovulated.  It took 47 days for AF to show up for me, but a lot of girls here get her within 2-4 weeks.  GL with your decision!

I'm sorry for your loss.  My dr also suggested that we wait for one AF and then we would have the green light.
