As we all know, some more than others, adoption can be a stressful journey (all the forms, the home study visits, the financial aspect, educating ourselves about all the pros/cons, the waiting, the failed matches, etc).
How do you handle the stress associated with your adoption journey (exercise, eat (if so what is your go-to comfort food), crafting or other hobbies)?
Me: I exercise my mouth - chocolate is my go-to comfort food and I paint with acrylics (see pic of my latest creation).
Re: GTKYF - Stress
Wow! ?You are very talented! ?Maybe you and Dr. Loretta should start an etsy shop to sell your paintings and her sweaters!
To answer your question, I haven't really started the process--so stress isn't that bad yet. ?I am most stressed about how to save money. ?I opened a high interest savings account and am putting as much as possible in there each month. ?That makes me feel like I have some control of the situation.?
Jerseygirl- holy crap that's adorable!!! I have the artistic ability of a 6 year old
so projects like that are out. I keep myself busy with home improvement projects (see kitchen below). I also tiled the bathroom floor & tub surround, and redid the plaster walls in our master bedroom (had to repair & skim coat them, it took forever). Once I finish all the details in the kitchen & associated bathroom, my next project is refinishing the stairs to the attic and patching the walls up there too.
And the nursery, I painted the dressers and put polka dots on one wall. And I recovered a chaise to match the dressers. I'm learning to sew, I think that's going to be my next real project, learning to sew more complicated things.
I'll go nuts if I didn't have something on my list to do for the day since I'm not working.
I'm on spring break ... and some how the day just flew by with me doing nothing but surfing, watching dvr'd stuff ... uh still in my PJs ...
Ah, but that is vacation! I am just unemployed so it's my job to get stuff done around the house to make it ready for sale!
