so for the last 2 days she has gotten a late nap b.c she refused her earlier one. ?normal nap time is 1-3. the last 2 days she's taken her nap for 4-6.
she goes to bed between 9 and 9:30. ?well--the last 2 days she has STTN. ?I am sticking with the 4-6 naptime but it just seems so late.
?
Re: does this make any sense re: S's sleep?
hmm. I'm wondering if those 2 nights were just flukes? I don't know. Before I started having sleeping issues with A, she could take a nap until 5-5:30 and STILL go to bed at 8. But she won't nap anymore, and I do notice that if she does fall asleep in the car in the afternoon (the only way she would nap) it takes her forever to fall asleep at night. So I guess my experience has been opposite of yours.
I'm realizing as I write this that this is NO help to you! but I just wanted to say I'm with you with the sleeping issues, it's so tough. Hopefully it gets better. I just keeping repeating this mantra to myself- it's another phase, it's another phase, it's another phase...................
oh no---please don't let her be dropping her nap! M, I remember you saying Brooke dropped her nap when she was 1. ?OMG!?
I'll take a fluke over dropping a nap! ?
DD has been taking later naps too and I have been still putting her to bed at 8:30.
I hope it keeps working for you.
On the weekends, when we're home she doesn't nap unless we happen to be in the car anytime after 4pm, then she's sure to fall asleep. At daycare, they have to sleep, even if they lay there for the 2 hours. Most of the time, she'll finally fall asleep at the end of the 2 hrs for 25ish minutes.
Lets just hope its a fluke for you!
It could be that she was overtired from being awake so long between nap and bed and couldn't get fully settled down to STTN with the earlier nap? However, 4-6 seems late to me too. Maybe compromise with 3-5? Good luck!
