3rd Trimester

31 weeks and consistent stomach cramp that won't go away

What do you think this could be?  I am 31 weeks today.  Since early afternoon I have had a consistent stomach cramp in my lower abdomen that will not go away.  It is not like braxton hicks that come and go.  It ranges from moderately uncomfortable to almost unbearable.

  • I would call your doctor?

drink a ton of water and put your feet up?

  • I had really bad cramping that lasted about a week around the same time.  The doctor did some extra testing to make sure it was not PTL, but he said it was probably due to stretching of the uterus.  I'd still call your doctor though.
  • Oddly enough I am 31 weeks today and was having menstrual like cramps in my lower abdomen/uterus this morning into the afternoon. ?It was consistent for the first 2.5 hours and then would come and go. ?I went to the doctor's and they did the fetal fibronectin test.?

I would call your doctor since abdominal cramps is a sign of pre-term labor. ?Better to be safe than sorry.?

  • Is it like an uncomfortable pulling-ish pain?  I get that on occasion..could be gas, baby positioning etc...I definitely get more pain with a full bladder now too.  Never hurts to call the doc though!!  GL!
