  • Seriously, is the government going to be able to get some of the money back? I know they are trying to prevent it in the future.
  • I wish I had a penis so I could be part of the good old boys club and get $1M for being a total fuck_up.  Nepotism, avarice and greed make the world go 'round.

  • I hope that you will.  I understand giving small bonuses to the people who have actually worked their butts off to keep the company afloat, or the poor people taking calls that are probably being berated daily.  But million dollar bonuses to the people that essentially drove the company into the ground and had a huge hand in the collapse of the entire national economy...not such a grat idea, contract or not.  Doesn't the contract say they actually have to do something??
  • MrsC. It looks as though the government is not only keeping the amount of money they received in bonuses through their stimulus amount they have yet to receive but they are also asking them to give back the amount as well so AIG is going to be out on double the amount.  Not only that, but they are making sure that their bonuses are going to be taxed to highest amount.  Idiots...they should just give the money back.

  • I think the government needs to recind the promised money.  No one would get bonuses that way.

As for taxing them like 95%...that is not good.  What would stop them from taxing anyone anytime if they think they are making too much...like anything over $40,000 gets taxed 95% ?!
