OPK still neg CD 17

OK, WTH?  I am trying to be patient but this is my first month using OPK's and I'm afraid I have somehow missed my surge?  I am testing 2 x/day (morning and right after work) b/c I read somewhere that some people have a short surge and could miss it by testing only once per day.

I am using digitals - no smiley face.  BUT, I am looking at the stick afterwards and have seen a faint line grow slightly darker, but still not darker than the control line.

I know everyone is going to ask if I chart, and the answer is no not yet.  We are going to wait and see how it goes for a few months since we got pg so quickly the first time.

But without my chart, what are your opinions on what could be happening???  Is my body gearing up to O or does the line mean nothing till it's positive?  And have any of you found that you've ovulated without ever getting a +OPK?  TIA!

Ick, not knowing what your body is doing is the worst!  I NEVER got a + OPK, but got prg with Sophia, so obviously I ovulated.  I think I'm one of those with a very short surge ON TOP of a very long cycle... which makes it difficult.

What CD did you start testing?  I've noticed that the test line does continue to get darker the closer you get to O time. That's what happened yesterday for me. I wasn't even going to test last night but I did and the test line was just as dark as the control line.  I'll be praying for you!

Btw, somewhere I read that you may have more luck testing during the early-mid afternoon around 2 ish.. Don't know if it's true, but worth a try.

Oh good!  Well, that's encouraging.  I def. noticed a difference in the line from yesterday to today so something must be happening in there!  I'll try this pm, I brought one with me to work!!! lol!  Nothing like waiting in the bathroom stall for a smiley face!  

I started testing on CD 13... that's what the CBE website suggested.  Maybe if I'm not successful this month I will start around CD 10 next month.

i don't ovulate until CD20 so it's possible you haven't ovulated yet!

I didn't O until CD 19 last cycle....you still have time.

Oh good, thanks ladies!  That makes me relax a little.  I just noticed some other really good fertility signs (CM - yay!) so hopefully that means O is imminent.  I really just want it to come soon b/c my parents are coming to visit for 5 days on Friday!  I'm really excited to see them but there is really nothing that kills the mood like having your parents in the house haha!!

Gotta get as much BDing in before that as possible!

Since you have a 30 day cycle according to your ticker, still having a negative at cd 17 is not bizarre at all.   From what you describe with increased CM, it sounds like things are gearing up.

i never got a + opk until i started using the clear blue easy fertility monitor. if your cycle is shorter than 43 days, i would suggest using it. i now only use 1 opk a month, the first day i get a peak reading, and it has been right on so far.
