Do CP clothes run giant?

Or is James really that small? I have never gotten him clothes there before, and went in today to get him linen pants for Easter. I had to get him size 6-9 months in pants and in a button down and they are still giant on him and he is 17 months! But regardless, I think he will look super cute. We are going to sunrise service on the beach and then the country club for brunch. He will wear the linen pants cuffed up, and a light pink linen button down with the sleeves rolled up and sandals. I love dressing him up!

Re: Do CP clothes run giant?

  • they seem to run normally on DD. her 18 mo CP clothes are starting to get outgrown which is about average for her now.
  • I find they run quite large, especially in the waist, they seem really wide.  Old Navy seems much more accurate, but like everyone else, it depends and there is always the exceptions...

  • They tend to run on the slimmer side!

  • they run pretty normal on Jake-true to his age at least. But some people say he's big for his age, IDK.
  • They run huge on my son.  He just outgrew a 12 month onesie from CP, and he's 22 months next week.

On the other hand, he outgrew the 18 month ON clothes a few months ago.

It all differs according to how the kid is shaped.  Sam is around 60th percentile in both height and weight.

  • I think they run huge!  DS is 100-%ile for height and the pants are always way long on him. He has always worn a full size smaller in CP than anywhere else.  But, we have very few things from there, so maybe it's just been a handful of flukes, based on these other replies.

  • Most of DD's clothes are a 3T right now but I bought her a pair of capris from TCP on Sat and I had to get a 24 month. I tried them on her again today and I think I might need to even get her an 18 month....so in my opinion I think they do run quite large. I've never really shopped there either so I was surprised how big they were on her.

  • dd is tiny. at her 3 yr well visit she was 36inches and 26lbs.  She wears some of their 3T dresses and tops but cannot wear their pants. Too wide.  When I find the skinny legged jeans at target, I stock up. Their leggings work for her... (gymboree leggings are too wide on her believe it or not, she has a pair of 2T that fit her now but are still baggy in the butt)...  She cannot wear most "name brand" jeans.  Gymboree was enormous on her... she'd crawl right out of their pants when she was a crawler.  I've heard they have slim, but have yet to find it online or in store.  I don't find a huge difference in length.  Old Navy ran smaller than the other mall brands.   I haven't shopped there in a while.  Most of her play clothes comes from Target... nice clothes from boutiques, macy's or on rare occasion Gap or Gymbo (usually just dresses though).

ds has some TCP denim and the rise is short on him, but the legs are longer. He's 18 months and can still wear the lenght of the 12m... but the rise is getting short (of course, he's in cloth diapers, which does affect that some).  He's in 18 m jeans from Target.  He's 23lb 8oz and 32 1/2 in.
