what does an ear infection feel like???  i think I may have one.

I've had a cold since 2 Friday's ago...so a week and a half at this point.  It got super bad last week, to the point that I"m pretty sure it was/is an sinus infection.  I'm still blowing green snot out my nose all stinking day long...my nose is raw...but I don't have time to go to the doctor...work is stressful and busy.

now my ear hurts....but not an achy hurt...more like I have a zit in it type hurt, but I can't feel any sort of an zit.  it hurts if I touch anywhere inside.

I have not ran a fever the entire time.  I'm not running one now, and besides the green snot that's been here for the past week +, I have no other symptoms.

So do ear infections sort of feel like a deep zit....weird, I know...but its the only way to describe it.

(FWIW--I had an ear infection...in both ears...not that long ago, maybe last year, and I had no clue....I never feel pain.  I get strep throat without throat pain or fevers.  I just am an odd ball when it comes to "regular symptoms")

My ear infections feel like someone stabbing me in the side of the head with an ice pick. But if you had one previously and didn't feel much, then it's possible you have another one. Or it could just be a lot of fluid, not necessarily infected.

I've had two cases where I've sworn I had to have an ear infection.  I went to the doctor, and I didn't; it was just that I had so much pressure from my sinuses it was causing my ears to hurt.

But if you think you have a sinus infection, which you probably do if you have the green snot, you should go in and get it checked anyway.  They can probably give you something to help get over it quicker.

Another thing that really helps me when I have a sinus infection is candling my ears.  Many spas do that, or you can do it at home if you buy a kit at a natural foods/remedies type store.

The hurt when touching inside should indicate infection.  Has always been so in my case for the few ei's I've had.

I'm odd too with sinus infections.  I had sinus infections for so many years and thought they were colds or allergies.  I have no pressure in my face, just in my head.  Not even when you press.

I'm sitting here fighting a cold and double ear infection... as far as the ear infection, i'm just putting hydrogen peroxide in my ears because that will kill any infection. You can just dip a q-tip in hydrogen peroxide and clean your ear out if you can't drop some in your ears... GL. I know how bad you're probably feeling! =(
