She went pee pee in the potty!
Saturday morning she said I poop, so I checked and she had not?! So I was like, "do you need to poop?" And ran her to the bathroom...and she peed! Later that day, I put her on the potty after her nap, and she did it again! And then once on Sunday.
But my question is...if she is not telling me she needs to go, and there is no real sign of her needing to go, and I am just guessing she might go when I put her on the potty, am I pushing the situation on her? I am not in a hurry to get her to start going on the potty 24/7, but liked the idea of starting the process too. And also, if I should continue the process, is there anything else I need to do to help her along? What is the next step?
Thanks ladies!! You all always have such great advice!
Re: 3 times this weekend...and a ?
I don't think there is anything wrong with letting her go on it when she wants to.
ETA: I thought she was only one, but now I see she is closer to two. I think that is old enough to start potty training.
If she is asking then of course you should continue trying to get her to potty on the toilet. In my experience though, pushing them, (not that that's what your doing) but pushing them, will delay getting them pt. That being said, boys are much different than girls when being pt.
I think your next step should be continue letting her go when she says poop or pee but don't push her. I was there at 18 mo. Caleb kept saying poop, so of course I attempted it. After a few times of him going, I figured since he could do it, I should push it.... big, huge, mistake. He was finally completely pt at about 2 years, 9 months. It was a long, hard process, and I really do think that my pushing him made it much worse.
Good luck, I know how difficult that road can be.
