Breastfeeding

I'm sure this is asked every five mins

I'm sorry! How does breast milk come in? Is it gradual, or will I wake up with it?

Re: I'm sure this is asked every five mins

  • You'll start to notice your breasts feeling fuller after you have the baby.  I don't want to say it's gradual since I see most people say "My milk came in on day x" but it won't necessarily be when you wake up in the morning, if that makes sense.

Good luck and I hope you pop that kiddo out soon!

  • Mine came in on day 3 pp. It didn't come in all at once, but it wasn't quite gradual either. It came in over the course of the day, but because my DS didn't  quite empty what came in, by later on that night i was ready to explode.
  • I noticed a gradual change but then by the morning of the 5th day pp I felt like I was going to explode if I didn't feed my baby.  I think it might be the engorgement that comes on suddenly.
