3rd Trimester

DH is pissed at me.

And all I want to do is go upstairs, throw myself on the bed, and cry.

And I am NOT a cry-er.

We have been trying to find a bedroom set.  Last weekend, we went to look for them, and ended up buying the rocker for the baby's room.  He insisted on leather, so we spent twice as much as we would have on cloth.

So this week, I went out to try and find the bedroom set.  I had found one online that was a cheap-azz thing, for like $850.  Particle board, cheap, ugly.  Then I was checking out craigslist, and there's this clearance center locally that has some decent sets.  I sent him their website, and he sent be back an email with the one he liked.

Well, the one he liked is $2800, out of range of what we wanted to spend.  BUT, I found another one, that is still a nice, hardwood set (not particle board cheap shizz), for $1350 - almost identical to the one he liked.  So I bought it.

He called me right after I handed my check over to the guy, and DH proceeded to freak out on me about how much I spent.  Never mind that this is a nice set, that will last for years and years, and that it's basically what he said he wanted.

Now he is so mad he won't even talk to me, even though I apologized for spending too much. (despite the fact that he spent what he did last week, and despite the fact that I was picking out a set he'd already said he likes.)

*sigh*

Re: DH is pissed at me.

  • So you can't spend 1350 without him getting mad but he wanted to spend 2800? Not cool.

  • That doesn't make any kind of sense. If it will last you, then why not spend a little extra. He wanted the "extra" leather, so you got the "extra" quality.

Oh well, he'll have to get over it. So don't cry. If at 850, its cheap but isnt it going to fall apart soon? Probably.

  • Sounds like DH needs a time out.  Maybe he's having sympathy hormones and mood swings.  Too bad he can't get the bloat, swelling and backaches instead.  Right now we have 2 hormonal people in our home.. and we are driving each other crazy with mood swings.
