I went for a leg ultrasound the other day to ensure I didn't have any blood clots as my one leg was swelling up.
The Dr called and htey didn't find any blood clots, but they did find a "collection of blood" behind my right knee. The Dr said it's probably a Hemangioma, but could be something else...
Anyone had anything like this or know anything about this??
I have to go for an MRI on Mon or Tues as htey want to look into this asap because I'm pregnant.
TIA
Re: Hemangioma
DD has a hemangioma. I don't remember her having it at birth so it developed sometime in the first week to 2 weeks of life. It's just a collection of blood vessels that are raised. DD has hers on the back of her head so thankfully her hair covers it up but when she was a newborn, we ended up in the hospital because it broke open from laying on it and bled a lot. It was not fun. They say you can shrink them using steriods but I chose not to because I didn't want it to stunt her growth. The doctor said that if it's in a place where it can cause serious issues, they will do surgery to remove it. Since it's not in a critical place and her hair covers it up, it's just basically a birthmark. It absolutely has not affected her since she could sit on her own.
I know I'm kind of rambling above so I hope it all makes sense. Feel free to ask me any specific questions.
