3rd Trimester

Feel like crap and itching all over

I am so tired.  I have been so tired and benadryl is not working.  I got up at 12:30 last night to take a shower to try to help with the itching and slathered myself in oatmeal cream.  I then laid awake in bed for until 2.  Once I finally got to sleep I had to get up to pee at 3 and then 5 and then the alarm went off at 6.

I am still itching all over.  I just took two more benadryl and a shower followed up by oatmeal cream.  My skin still feels like it is covered in crawling ants.  Not to mention I am having horrible contractions.  So far they are not regular, just intense.  They last about 45 seconds.

Blah!  This sucks!

Re: Feel like crap and itching all over

  • Yikes, I hope that you feel better.  Why are you itching all over?  Are you sure your not having an allergic reaction to something??

  • I would just call the doc and mention it, I remember itching being a symptom of something, just can't remember what at the moment. Hopefully they will have a recommendation that actually works for you.

  • Evidently I am allergic to being PG.  This has been going on since I was 25 weeks and it keeps getting worse.  I have a spotty rash all over my abdomen, chest, and back.  Doc says I have PUPPS.  It should get better once I have the baby.

It is kind of hard to keep clothes on when all you want to do is tear them off and stand naked in the middle of the room.  Not exactly work friendly.

Hehe! No,?definitely?not work friendly. That sucks about the PUPPS. I've heard about it, but never known anyone who has had it. Just think of how wonderful it will be when you are able to hold your little one in your arms.

When you say "all over" .... where exactly do you mean? Just curious.

  • I am so sorry. I had PUPPS with my first pregnancy, and it was the most horrible thing I have ever experienced!  I remember getting up in the middle of the night to take cold baths...Mine did go away from some reason at like 37 weeks, so maybe it will go away before delivery!
